Alan Bean a Texas native, is known for his friendliness and approachability. Since leaving NASA in 1982, he has become a well-known space artist, specializing in the Apollo lunar landings in his own colorful, impressionistic style. See some of Alan's artwork in the SPACEFEST art show.

A veteran of two flights, first Apollo 12, the second lunar landing where he became the 4th of 12 moonwalkers. His 2nd flight was as mission commander of the second of three Skylab crews in 1973, spending 73 days aboard the world's first space station.

Born in 1932, Bean spends his retirement painting and giving motivational talks to corporations. He lives in Houston with wife Leslie and a bevy of Lhasa Apso showdogs.
